Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP)

Format:

Synchronous

Duration:

About 1 hour

Audience:

This is a REd Best Practice Network (live) class.

This course will discuss utilizing start-up agreements to ensure upfront departmental costs and non-refundable fees are paid by a sponsor in the event a study site is not ultimately activated.

Participants will better understand how to evaluate the risk of expending funds on a study before the Clinical Trial Agreement is signed, and how to develop a process for including the startup agreement in early interactions between the study team and the sponsor.

REd Best Practice Networks are 1 hour in length with a 15-minute presentation and a 45-minute discussion that are led by subject matter experts. They will be developed based on (1) requests from participants and (2) needs from units on campus. Participants are expected to come prepared with any questions that they may have and to engage in a conversation with the facilitator and their peers.
