This is a REd Best Practice Network (live) session.

Faculty, researchers, and staff are invited to a one-hour virtual session with the university’s Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) team for an introduction to foundation and corporate funding.

In this session, we’ll cover the basics of connecting with private and corporate philanthropic organizations, identifying and assessing funding opportunities, developing competitive grant proposals, and tapping into university resources to support your success.

Objectives:

  1. Foster funder relationships: Learn strategies for connecting and engaging with program officers.

  2. Find funding opportunities: Learn how to find and assess funding opportunities that fit your needs.

  3. Develop competitive proposals: Learn tips for developing proposals that align with funder priorities.

  4. Leverage university resources: Learn about UU resources to support your grant-seeking efforts.

The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) serves as the University’s central point of contact for institutional engagement with national and international private and corporate philanthropic organizations. The CFR team supports faculty, researchers, and administrators across campus in navigating foundation and corporate relations. They advise on foundation engagement and stewardship strategies, help identify and assess funding opportunities, offer strategic guidance for funder alignment, and support the development of competitive proposals (including draft reviews)

REd Best Practice Networks are 1 hour in length with a 15-minute presentation and a 45-minute discussion that are led by subject matter experts. Participants are expected to come prepared with any questions that they may have and to engage in a conversation with the facilitator and their peers.
