This is a REd Asynchronous (online/self-paced) Class.
Class Description: Participants will review the process of writing effective grant applications and assembling a good proposal to The National Institutes of Health (NIH). The basic components of a competitive grant proposal will be presented including common pitfalls to avoid in grant writing and submission. The unique structure of the NIH, the purpose of the NIH grant forms that accompany the application, and tips for transitioning to the new shorter application forms will be discussed. Strategies will be described for applicants to better position themselves to obtain NIH funding and to ensure that career development as a successful NIH-supported researcher continues beyond receiving the first grant.
REd Asynchronous classes feature lessons and exercises designed to build competency and increase efficiency. Modules are accessible 24/7 and are all self-paced. All members of the University research community are invited to complete any online classes of interest.
